gasping for breath...

McGuire's lawyers had attempted last week to block his execution, arguing that the untried method could lead to a medical phenomenon known as "air hunger" and could cause him to suffer "agony and terror" while struggling to catch his breath.

ask his victims.....
this.

Yeah we should actually just skin them alive and let them dry out while screaming and withering.

It's supposed to be a justice system, not a vigilante Hammurabi system.
since victims cannot be asked, are you now piling onto their suffering by taking away their voice, giving a chance that justice won't be meted out? that's an odd tack for someone who's so enlightened

i don't think there's any advocacy for the victims to carry out justice (which would then make it hammurabi)

so it took 25min; that's 1 min for each year he lived after committing the capital crime.

Are you putting shaky premises in my mouth so that you may then discount them?

Just a friendly reminder (not that eric needs it) that hatred and evening scores shouldn't be what drives a system that should be based on even handed justice and deterrent. Otherwise I'd be free to a 1 hour session per day of Jamie Dimon ball kicking with summa mah steel toed bootz.

But your assumption that the 'victims' voice' is something along the lines of 'let that ****er's skin boil' seems an odd one to me. Not that I've been following the case. Just making an assumption about your assumed assumption.

I'm all for justice, but questionable execution methods that perhaps border on torture, is not justice, it's inhumane. I don't think it does the victims, or their families any justice at all to act like animals.

Yeah I mean it goes against every fiber I feel in my gut but if 'he was a dick' is justification for weird chemically induced, fully conscious suffocation, why stop there?

I've got all kinds of 'human catapult onto interesting things' ideas.

Since I'm not pro-life, I wouldn't have a problem with blindfolding them and kicking them out of an airplane at 20,000'. Can't get any more instant than that.

I lost close to 100 relatives to the Nazi gas chambers, would I have any compunction about subjecting their executioners to a similar fate? nope none.

A female friend of mine was overdosed with drugs, raped and murdered, The guy who did it got off on a technicality, he got blown away by 3 point blank shot gun blasts. I cracked a beer in the shooters honor.

I beat the snot out of the SOB that didn't listen when my sister said no

You don't have to like it or even approve, it's just how I am.

All stories I can completely relate to (reaction, not events). But that's why a justice system needs to exist (as flawed as it is). Personal justice in every single citizen's mind ain't a system. Hell I'd be disemboweled for eating shellfish on a sunday when the moon is in its 3rd quarter or some shlt. I'd be freedom killzored for voting democrat. Everyone's individual idea of justice can't be satisfied, nor should it be. That's all I was saying. It was definitely a general comment, just using your post as a stepping stone.

Now tell me more about this shotgun story :D

She asked me to go to a party, I had prior commitments so she had me drop her off. The police found her body the next day. She had been raped strangled and shot up with heroin (lethal dose) and dumped. There were witnesses, and semen. The guy was arrested, dna matched. cops screwed up the miranda and his daddys lawyer got him off. A few weeks later he came out of his apartment to go to work and was peppered with 3 rounds of 00 buck at close range

She was a really nice lady and did not deserve to go that way. As for the newly ventilated, we all knew who pulled the trigger but when asked: everyone did their best Sargent Shultz imitation. For some odd reason the cops didn't dig too hard either

I guess maybe this is what gets me. Having spent some time in the back of ambulance, not being able to breathe myself, maybe I'm hypersensitive to this, but it is something I would seriously not wish on anyone. It's also why no one will EVER convince my water boarding isn't torture. Inflicting that feeling, on another human being, on purpose, no matter what the reason, ought to earn you a special place in the hell I don't believe in.
