I would agree. They don't make the frame, they don't set the angles, they bolt and/or weld stuff on to pre-made fenders and tanks and call it good. They have some cool ideas, and some of the work is top notch, but a real builder has input and hands on each part.Originally posted by HippieKai

all they do is dress **** up all pretty. Watch a guy like billy or jessie and then you will see a badass bike builder.
I have to agree with you, they don't even build the gas tank! It's all pre-fabbed and all they do is weld scrap metal on it. At least Jessie knows how to build a tank with nothing but a couple of hammers, thats hard core.Originally posted by HippieKai

Nothing is better than a hand hammered tank and fenders! Jesse even has his own CNC in his shop to make his parts. I know he gets a lot of dough for his bikes, but they are less expensive and far more custom than OCC's bikes. Guy's like Jesse and Billy Lane are serious builders.
word. they are a 2 man assembly line.... not real fabricators.Originally posted by jimmydean

hey, for that matter, i built my bike from ordered parts, i should get my own show too.......
you can order all their parts from a catalog...Originally posted by pnj
maybe I don't know the definition of fabricator but they come up with the designs themselves then create them.
sure, it's cosmetics they do but it's still custom and creative. it's a bit more then just adding parts.
oh right, like the custom tanks, the handlebars, the spider webs, the wheels all come from a catalog.Originally posted by WestCoastHucker

jessie james creates his parts.... can't be ordered anywhere
you can't deny that all of their bikes are only have slight differences. look at them, from a "full custom" to a catalog bike only sport minor differences.Originally posted by pnj

when i modify my chainguides or cut my bars i don't consider that a "fully custom" bike i know you don't either....
I did say the work was top notch. If things keep going the way they have been this year, I will post pictures of my custom bike this Fall.Originally posted by pnj
I say either stop bitching about what those guys build and show some of the stuff YOU'VE built.
No.... Snoop Dog is the biggest sell-out of them all.Originally posted by Serial Midget
Oh and... Jesse James is the biggest, badest sellout of them all.
lame dude. you should build the engine yourself.Originally posted by jimmydean

I am building a custom frame from bent 4130. I will be using all the drivetrain from a Ducati Monster 900, as well as the wheels, brakes, fork, and rear shock. The frame and swingarm will be from scratch, as will the tank, forward controls, bars, pipes, and seat. The frame and most everything else will be done in one-off custom powdercoat that I am working to develop this summer.
This will be a long, lean, and low chopper with old school looks and state of the art hart. This will be my personal ride and will be designed and built by me, for me, powdered by Ducati

If some terrorist could come with a virus that would kill the rednecks who have a Orange County Chopper t-shirt, then it would wipe out half of the US population.
yep. and then we'd just need a virus for the west coast chopper t-shirters and we'd be set.Originally posted by Jeremy R
