Christ Almighty. Market place on NPR had a story this morning about how the market is up, Bigly now, because divided government means no one is liable to tax capital gains on rich people.

3. Homes get rented out or flipped for a premium within 2 years
Might be some of us poor schlubs who can get into a house, but it largely feels like another repeat of the rich get richer 2008 meltdown.

My old job had a low-income property we invested in near Boston (I think) where rents were something like $2,200 a month. Low-income designation is based median income. One of our East Coast transplants knew the area and said he wasn’t surprised.

I've seen a few different names for it but it was pointed out when that shithead shot up a synagogue live in NZ. The youtube nazi problem. Basically if you let it run long enough, you always end up at crazy conspiratorial fascist shit.
I've done this before, watch a bike video or something inoccuous, just let it run while I leave for a full day of work. Every single time I did it....... come home to Q or the klan.
I think the Q shit has been mostly scrubbed but it seems to start with a mix of cucker carlson/ben shapiro and just keeps going down the hole assuming you're letting it play so you must like that stuff. It takes a while if you're watching auto repair how-to's but it still eventually seems to go there.

Saying that, I have left it to run long enough that when I got back it was like WTF? - how the hell did we get here? There are some frighteningly strange people out there.

Crazy batshit with a hint of cruelty will always be more interesting than reality and kindness. Like there's no one at youtube going out of their way to do it, but it's just where the views end up pointing people. When this has been explicitly brought to their attention, it gets a shoulder shrug from these companies because their driver isn't reality or ciculating good ideas or anything. It's views, nothing more. Social media really the perfect conduit for things like disinformation and eventual fascism. And I remember just thinking napster was awesome and I could log on here and meet mountainbikers. It was so innocent when the only people on the internet had to go figure it out, even just a little bit. Some things just aren't safe for mass consumption made easier.
