France while whine as usuall, but their time is over.
Thats a pretty arogant thing to say.

It's pretty cool though how Riis can make almost any average racer into a winner.

Since when is Bobby Julich an average racer?
He pretty much was when Riis picked him up and turned the twilight of his career into his most winning seasons ever. Bjarne Riis has a way of making people turn around and win. Look at Hamilton, look at Basso and many others and now look at Julich.

He's one of the best Americans racing in Europe, there is nothing average about him. Average amongst cycling superstars maybe, but certainly not compared to the rest of the pro scene in the US.

Agreed. Anyone who can manage a podium finish in the TDF is not average. He may have "lost focus" or may have been on the wrong teams, but the talent was always there.

I think it's safe to say that his success is wholly thanks to George W. Bush and the Patriot Act.
I think it has more to do with the loss of a certain Canadian who tends to damage the whole national psyche. :sneaky:
