I saw that camera on your frame and followed you on your run down Dominion. I was hoping to be in the background casing jumps and doing sweet bar-turns. I was disappointed that I was no where to be seen.

Dave, Lee - AWESOME vid! Great shots of the suspension in action, and the "follow-cam" footage combined with the "frame-cam" footage worked out well. It allows the viewer to compare specific patches of terrain with how the suspension is reacting to it. It really gives the folks at home an idea of what DELTA does.

Good work guys!

Oh thanks be to to jeebus. I was getting upset there for a minute
even funnier is those that don't even know it is wrong in the first place.

it really sucks when you have bad dampening in your forks

Not gonna lie, that was rad. Thanks for taking the time to put that together. DELTA def looks like it gets the job done and that POV of the shock is unique to say the least. Good to see you guys this weekend. I'll be back in VT in August!

I am really diggin on all this on-board camera stuff. Am thinking that someone needs to find a really high speed camera and mount er up. Slap a couple of little tracking dots on the shock and the frame while your at it as well. I wanna get an idea of how well these frames are doing over small bumps. Its pretty obvious how they do on large hits but...
This would be really cool to have in conjunction with force measuring gear too! DATA!!! Fun :)

Thanks for the link!

yawn... there is one in every crowd

you have said you piece, now move along and troll in another thread

:nopity:
Disagreeing that this video shows more about the system than that it makes the shock goes up and down is not trolling. Seems pretty relevant to me.

The video was cool but not informative unless you didn't know that the linkage drives the shock.

way too bike geek foe me, haha... but i agree that would be cool to see.

as for this vid, you get a good idea of what is going on by looking not only at the shock/link but also at the rear brake caliper as well.

i made this just for fun, and i thought it was cool to share

** actually, i was trying to capture the elusive pinkbike single pivot brakejack.... but failed**

That's a cool vid on the Revolt, but tells you dick all about what DELTA does. If you can tell the response amplitude of the damper vs the bump from that video, you deserve a bloody nobel price.

i dont think they were going for the scientific documentary on the DELTA system...i think its a cool video. cant you just leave it at that?

I enjoyed the video but what is it supposed to show? i saw that the shock ate the bumps but i feel video wise-you can do it with any bike? I am not flaming the bike at all(infact id love to own one) but what was this showing that i am not aware of?

It's showing you the answer to life. duh...

F'n cool camera angle it was cool to see how it ate that **** up, I'm sure alot of bikes would look cool from that angle as well, but with the floating shock and tiny linkage (moves alot more in terms of rotation than a longer linkage) design it's pretty wild, plus I'm very familiar with that line down Diablo so it just adds to it and was cool to see what was goin on bike side rather than trail side.

Absolutely. My comment was directed at SKC who said "shows...what DELTA can do for you". Go up and down is about the only thing anyones going to learn from that.

I do enjoy those unusual camera angles. I think the best ones are mounted down towards the bb on one side looking back at the rear wheel.

One there, one looking at the front wheel from the BB, one looking at the shock and one on the helmet(or third person follow) would be badass if they each were in a quarter of the screen. You could really see how each terrain feature affects the suspension. I wish I could see what was going on with my bike like that, every time I try to look down on the rough stuff I eat it. :(

from where i have that camera mounter to the frame I can simply spin the camera around and get the same type of view of the fork.

this is the only angle that worked since the gopro camera is a bit wide and i had to mount it so i could still pedal/ride.

it is simply something "cool" to look at... and a lot of people on here have ridden those trails so i figured i would share.

don't read into it past that... you will ruin the fun

What I DID say was:

"...gives the folks at home an idea of what DELTA does."
As the suspension cycles through it's range of motion, one can indirectly observe how the "connecting rods" work to activate the the "rocker" linkage that the shock is directly mounted to. As the swing arm is activated, it pulls on the "connecting rods" which in turn pulls the shock "rocker" linkage around its pivot point, pushing the top of the shock down. The only thing you can see in the vid is the swingarm movement and the "rocker links" pushing down on the shock - looks weird at first, but if you understand how it all works, it's kinda cool.

EDITED due to ridiculousness

...and I started to make a new plan of life based on that video. Damn.

Still a cool vid, one of the better executed ones I've seen (most of the shock vids seem realy sketchy because the camera is a bit loose therefore it's harder to observe the susp. movement).

theres gotta be more to it than that though right SKC???? :bonk:
:) OK - I was a bit overboard with that repsonse - my apologies to dilzy.

To me - DELTA does look unique when the suspension cycles and I thought the vid that the Trump twins shot focused in on that. If you are familiar with the ins and outs of the suspension, then you can look at that and say "Cool". If you aren't - then either it's "Meh - up and down" or "What the hell is going on there?"

the shock footage resembled something from youporn

funny you said that...

the two original vids of the on board camera were saved to my computer as cockcam 2000 and cockcam 2001.

I blame Giant... now any bike with a hole for the shock has a glory hole
