Yeah, well that about sums it up for me. A dude who was himself paralysed in an accident would know what it's like, and it's reassuring to see that logic doesn't go out the window in ALL such cases...

Stacy for president, King, Emperor all that ****.

This guy needs more recognition in the sport. I love his perspective and even when I dont we can argue like grown men-not get all sensitive like other wanks do.

I read that the other night and was pretty taken back. (in a good way). What a way to put it in perspective.

Wait... rebar? I changed my mind. That place deserves to get sued... rebar? I know rocks and trees are just as bad, but rebar just screams negligence.

ok...its rebar driven into the ground with a PVC pipe over it used as a course marker...not something hanging out mid trail...it is off on the far edge of a fire road jump which was hit millions of times by every other rider and these riders had no problem STAYING ON COURSE. i have hit a course marker several times before. broken fingers...slashed forearms. granted his situation is more severe but the fact remains that pole is designated to mark where NOT to ride. He hit it...its no different that if a lift pole was near a course and he had hit that.

like the doctor says..if it hurts dont do it..... DUH

if you read the hideously long thread(s) on RM that cropped up a while back about BB's closure it was agreed by most that rebar topped by pvc was a standard way of marking courses.

I prefer the way Whistler marks sections on their MX course... 8' sections of steel barricade keep you honest through the rhythm section. The same stuff they use to corral the lift lines. I took em out, no problem. The hard part is tryin to look cool while putting the beast back up...There's nothing not to like about that place. :thumb:
