I am going up to Anacortes this week to put a deposit on a charter boat. I thought i might try and get a ride in. I have not been up there in a few years. What is still open? and where can i get a map?

You can get a map to the Anacortes Community Lands or whatever they're called, at the chamber of commerce (down in the old part of town, past the road to the ferries with a chevron on the corner, safeway on the other side). Definetly worth it even if you think you know the area. I haven't been able to find mine lately.
Whistle Lake and Little Cranberry Lake have a lot of trails around them. Kind of at the foot of Mt. Erie, across from Heart Lake. There are several entrances to each. The main one to Whistle is by the cemetary up on the hill on the south side of town.
I'm off all week if you want a riding partner.

Anacortes is great xc, i really enjoyed the death march a bunch of us had a few months ago.
Yea, go ride for sure, and get a map..... ive been 2 times and couldnt show you the way around to save my life........
