The only tire I've ever had a hard time with was a 24" Stout "doughty". They seem to use a 14AWG steel bead.

I don't know if any of you have tried this combo:
a THE rim (the one w/ the rubber bumper in the middle of the rim) and an Intense 2.7 (or for that matter, any tire). I spent 1 hour trying to seat one bead. Broke 3 nylon tire levers and scratch the rim all to hell. Then ,put the damn elastomer on and cut it down to size. Install the tube (pre-tubeless) and then try and seat the other bead. 2.5 hours later I finally "uncled."

hahahah tell me about it, i just recently took my hookworm off of my rhyno lite, i was close to killing myself just to end the suffering.
