Favorite pocket knife seems to have caught on my jacket and dislodged itself while shoveling the driveway this morning. Short of a miracle, its gonna be a while until I see that again, if ever. Bad way to start the day.

fukkin shit show in my town today. a decent amount of snow fell overnight, maybe 6"? Not a huge dump, but enough to make the roads a shit show. All school buses cancelled, so my youngest's trip to the tube-toboganning place was cancelled. High school exams were cancelled for the english school boards (we have 4 school boards here: French catholic, French public, English catholic, English public... yeah, it's a friggin' waste of money... so stupid. but I digress).

Our public transit system is a complete joke. any time there's any sort of stress on the system, it breaks down. dramatically. So no one trusts it. So on a Wednesday - the day everyone goes into the office in this government town - everyone drives in. I drove my kids to school since the school bus is cancelled. and since one of my boys is in a special needs program, his school is on the other side of downtown. round trip to school and back was 1.25 hours. Then I biked to work.

Oldest boy is supposed to be driven to races at MSA tomorrow, but because of the aforementioned exam situation, the English kids may not be able to make the drive first thing as planned. Still waiting on an update on carpooling situation.

All this for 6" of snow. It's not like we live in a northern climate and are aware of potential snowfall and are able to plan around it?! jtfc.

Once put my set of Sprinter keys in a pierce pocket. Had to rake the driveway for 30 minutes before finding them.

Here in the South if a snowflake is suspected of falling a state of emergency is declared and everything comes to a grinding halt. Dale Jr., NASCAR royalty, famously wrecked his car on less than an inch of snow. I learned to drive in Pennsylvania and will only drive if I have to. Not because of the snow and ice, but because no one else can drive in it and they terrify me.

i thought the south was all about bootstraps and not shutting down for emergencies of any kind.

hi

daughter's physical this morning. she's yuge tom. interesting speaking with the doctor about vaccinations. Sounds like us on private insurance will still be able to get vaccines, but it's possible that people on medicaid won't be able to get vaccine coverage for their kids. Of course, insurance might pull vaccinations to save money, in which case we'll have to pull luigis to save insurance.

anyways, I should buy a motorcycle
