...Moammar Qaddafi !

Ok, maybe not, but this guy has been busy lately!

-- Libya agrees to compensate families of the plane they shot down shot down.

-- Libya agrees to give up all WMD and allow full, unrestricted inspections... teams are apparently already on the way.

-- Libya is exploring diplomatic relations with Israel, reportedly, first step already took place in Vienna at the US Embassy.

-- Qaddafi sent his eldest son to meet with Israeli and Paletinians who have influence to discuss possible peace solutions.

-- Qaddafi himself said that all people, including Jews, whose property had been confiscated during Libya’s revolution should be compensated.

Well ****, if they can award it to Yasser Arafat I don't see why Qadafi isn't a prime candidate...

Sh*t Loopie doesn't the world turn. I'm sure you remember when Qadaffi was Osama/Saddam rolled into one back 15 or so years ago. Do dictators mellow with age? Seems like some do......interesting story anyway.

Heh, they sure seem too.

However, a friend has many friends in N.Africa and he says that the locals have a totally different picture of the man. Granted, he's done some evil things, but the whole point of being human is giving a person a chance to reform and pay for his mistakes... if he's sincere.

I'm disappointed in Israel's Admin's stance... sure, they need to watch the guy, check his motives and all that, but I don't think they needed to come out all agressive like.

I think history has taught them to be wary of Libya. He use to be the main center for the PLO training camps in the 70's that produced some bad boys that did much damage to Israel.

This big change has come since he realized he might be more African than Arab. He has been all for the creation of a United Africa and has threatened to take Libya out of the Arab organizations for a variety of different reasons.

Ultimately time will tell with him.

Plus internally Gadhafi was never even close to be the equal of Saddam.
