KANSAS CITY, Missouri — A federal grand jury indicted a Catholic priest in St. Louis on Wednesday on child pornography charges involving Internet images of a boy under the age of 18, in the latest sex accusation to rock the Church.
William Vatterott, 36, was charged with possession of child pornography, according to the indictment released by the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri. He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000, if convicted.

The case comes after Kansas City priest Shawn Ratigan pleaded guilty last August to producing child pornography. In September, Bishop Robert Finn of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of failing to report suspected child abuse when he did not report that Ratigan had the pornographic images.

I tie it into the mindless minions that vote a certain way because they follow the "moral" guidance given to them by the man at the pulpit who by the look of things has no morals at all. But then again the political party that has wrapped themselves in "God and Country" has time and time again shown they have no morals either so I guess they make good bed fellows.

except these 'mindless minions' vote democrat more than republican. so i guess we agree that blind faith to the chair is most assuredly wholly consistent.

now the matter of the culture that creates more pederasts should indeed be addressed.

Not so much.

My sisters article written for CBS news from 07 said:
From 1948 at least through 1968, Catholics were reliable Democrats as a group, supporting Democratic presidential candidates in numbers greater than the public at large, and only supporting a Republican candidate once – giving Eisenhower 54 percent of their vote in 1956 – according to the American National Election Studies conducted by the University of Michigan.

Their most staunchly Democratic vote came, not surprisingly, in 1960. That year an overwhelming 83 percent of Catholic voters chose the Catholic Democrat John Kennedy over Republican Richard Nixon, helping give Kennedy an edge in his famously narrow victory.

By 1972, however, Catholic voting had changed. In that election, and in every one since, Catholics have cast their votes for the popular vote winner, in numbers not too dissimilar from the public at large.

In other words, Catholics have become a bellwether block – as go Catholics, so goes the nation. In the extremely close 2000 election, Catholics were nearly as evenly divided as the country as a whole, siding slightly for Al Gore over George W. Bush, 50 percent to 47 percent, and helping Gore to his narrow popular vote win.
<edit> She kinda knows what she's talking about on the subject.

...most recently with regard to religious stereotypes and elections, as well as public opinion of government.

Professor McDermott is also a survey research practitioner who has conducted election surveys at the Los Angeles Times Poll, the CBS News Election and Survey Unit, and the Center for Survey Research and Analysis at the University of Connecticut. She is currently an election and polling analyst for CBS News and The New York Times.

It would be different if teachers etc would claim to be the be all end all of moral behaviour, in service of an omniscent god, who were pushing their morals and doctrines on us.

But yeah lets just ignore these things from now on. And lets start ignoring plane crashes too. Its not like theyve never happend before right?
We get it, planes crash. Dog bites man.

why did you leave this part out?
article said:
Catholics made up 50 percent of Massachusetts' voters, and they voted 53 percent to 43 percent for Kerry.
a double-digit spread isn't exactly splitting the difference

they are people in a position of trust, who are entrusted w/ our children. it's kind of a big deal.
