He's jokingly nicknamed the Seagull by the kiwi crew because of his riding position. I dunno how he does it, but he used to run his front suspension like rock hard too. Doesn't seem to slow him down much.on a DH or Enduro run he's always been instantly recognisable from the really awkward looking hunched up shoulders and low head riding position that I've seen no other WC rider adopt.
It looks more like a motocross track down the hill to me. Would be mad fun though, but after Lenzerheide and then this I feel for the tight, twisty DH track specialists. Worlds is at Val Di Sole though so there is that they can look forward to.And riders are moaning the track's too fast?
Sounds like an actual Downhill track to me.
As someone who has a similar body position to him (hoping to change that) I hope he keeps qualifying. I wonder how his off seasons go. He seems like those riders who tend to spend 100% of their time riding when sometimes training and being more purposeful would do more. I still hope he keeps qualifying since that means more content. Well that and he seems like a pretty great guyWhat happened? Crashed? injured? or just not quick enough to qualify?
Talking of Wyn. He's one WC racer who's riding style has always struck me as odd. Obviously it goes without saying that he's an amazing rider and clearly capable of qualifying at WC DH (but unlikely to trouble the top 20 riders), won an EWS round and has manualling/wheelying skills to die for but on a DH or Enduro run he's always been instantly recognisable from the really awkward looking hunched up shoulders and low head riding position that I've seen no other WC rider adopt.
Yeah, well shit is right Brother. The last time I was this Happy was Croatia. This Track suit’s him well,I was expecting a good qually. That being said,to me,this is a Tame Track. High Speed, but Tame. Those Stupid Metal Soft Sponge Bridge’s they have especially at the End are the worst I have seen? I am Fired Up,when they Say 10 Second’s,I will have Sweaty,Clamy Palm’s as if I was being interagtated for the most Important Job of my Life! Go Ginga!Well shit. There ya go Avy. He qualified 5th.
Surely the whole point in a multi round WORLD series should be to have diversity in tracks? It looks more like a motocross track down the hill to me. Would be mad fun though, but after Lenzerheide and then this I feel for the tight, twisty DH track specialists. Worlds is at Val Di Sole though so there is that they can look forward to.
Ah... nice to know you guys picked up on it too. He's jokingly nicknamed the Seagull by the kiwi crew because of his riding position. I dunno how he does it, but he used to run his front suspension like rock hard too. Doesn't seem to slow him down much.
MOAR?He seems like those riders who tend to spend 100% of their time riding when sometimes training and being more purposeful would do more.
Just watching RAW it's pretty clear it's not 100% one line. Its basically a one line track with who can stay off the brakes the most.
Did you see that YouTube he did on his EBike where they rode to a lake and caught a Fish? Don’t know the other Rider sorry? It was Kewl. He did not even have a waterbottle? No shirt just mashin up the hill. I hope he becomes an ambassador to our sport Like the Legend Himself,Han’s. I think he is so Fit he does not Sweat? How else would he be so happy with Long Hair? Shit,if I were him,I’d be waxin enshit, you know, like a Roadie.MOAR?
He seems like one of the fittest riders on the circuit.
Have you seen him take the piss out of the EWS E power stages skooling most of the Ebikers by riding his normal enduro bike up them?
I think he just comes across a guy who's made a good career as a professional racer and actually still loves riding bikes as much as possible. and sadly those two things don't always seem to go hand in hand.
Sorry Brother,I understand you’re water bottle comment. I have read here many a time that no water bottle was a Major No No. It does not matter to Avy,as I carry 5 Tons of water. I guess the bidon is the Model of the Bike he was on? I just thought it was kewl,No shirt,No water, let’s go.what is it with the current obsession of stressing about waterbottles?
FFS I don't own a single mtb with bottle cage mounts.
The bidon is about as roadie as you can get
Yes,of course of they do. Thank You for the lesson. Though I must say,it does sound like a good Model Name,No? Hey Gary, that would make you real happy no? “The Bidon Bitch”,No Bottle Mount’s.Avy, bidon is the French word for the water bottles that go in bikes. Most Europeans use that word instead of water bottle.
I always assumed it was from a prior injury. I have a buddy with a jacked up back and he rides the same way, all hunch back style. Makes it seem like his bike is too small.Ah... nice to know you guys picked up on it too.
I kinda wondered if his position might be a hang up from all the hours of riding skateparks n stuff on the rear wheel of (I'd assume) tiny bikes
No they don't.Avy, bidon is the French word for the water bottles that go in bikes. Most Europeans use that word instead of water bottle.
Gary,on this “looking MOTO AF” matter. I close my Eye’s and see Sam Hill in his “MOTO Gear Outfit“. I see the One who brought it All upon us,Mr.Palmer, and I have great memories of Peaty and the rest. Savage Look, with Savage Rider’s. I love‘d it,still do.Surely the whole point in a multi round WORLD series should be to have diversity in tracks?
Plus. until the super tight stretch material that isn't lycra (god forbid) uniform epidemic all DHers wanted to look MOTO AF
Troy flatted in qualis. Dunno if he's in the finals but was top 20 prior to flatting. My Poor Troy, what happened? Everybody Calm the Fuck Down,he is not yet back to form from the injury.
He's mentally fit. Absolutely crazy endurance wise - does 100km+ enduro bike days and 300km road rides regularly.MOAR?
He seems like one of the fittest riders on the circuit.

This has to be the worst end section by far. Most of the riders were skidding like crazy with all the loose dust being carried onto it from the upper track.Holy shit. That bridge claimed its first victim.

Bike websites need something to label as a "con" in their reviews, instead of focusing in poorly mated suspension systems and shocks.what is it with the current obsession of stressing about waterbottles?

By the riding I would have said rear flat, but the tire didn't show it. Insert keeping it stable but underinflated? What was wrong with Camille's bike? It was riding horribly?
