Top 20 got to pick their numbers. Camellinni chose 111 after some moto guy.
Not just "some Moto guy", he choose it after Jean Micheal Bayle, pretty much the only Euro to go to AMA and hand everyone their ass. A true legend, was the first dude to really start tripling stuff in SX, bone fide weapon.

Strangely SA old-man Greg Albertyn used 111 for a bit too, he's like one of Minnaar's personal heros I think!

But yeah, skids and siht...........first WC I've missed in a while so I'm itching at home, cheers for the pics and vids there Fraser, that shot of Sammy with his rudder out is about the first time his Monster jersey has looked half decent in a picture, that thing needs some serious light to "sparkle".

JMB lived on my street in redondo beach during his AMA reign, I knew nothing about MX at the time, I was a full on bike geek...through him is how I got into being a MX fanboy. Cully, JMB and I rode bikes together and he was hella fit, hella nice guy too.

Camellini could dome this one.

Gracias.....gotta hand it to steve smith, as hideous as his bike and kit look, you know its him every time.
I was thinking exactly the same, definitely does the job doesn't it. When I was at Maribor I was trying to spot the top guys and a lot of them (esp. the SC lot) were in super-bland kit I thought, not doing themselves any favours.

Any word yet on 4X qualifying?>
1. Salidini
2. Dan Atherton
10. Lopes
13. Milan

The course is really burley full of sharp shale rock! Rudy Unrau had a big spill tasting the local soil sample, it is too bad because he was doing really well! After briefly talking to Phil the course designer, he told me that the top of the course was made before the ski season and had time to set up and harden, the bottom straight jumps were built after the snow melted and is still soft because there wasn't enough time for the features to set up yet creating a mushy mudpit. They are doing the best they can to solve this problem.

Lots of quisodillas today on the last large double, pretty fun to watch! Should be good racing, my money is on Salidini!

Oh yeah, mine and Michael's bike have not yet been delivered as promised by the airlines so we will be rocking some red Commencails(SP) and I will be wearing blue jeans and a rockgardn hoody. Most likely will be running flats which I was not intending to do. Hopefully our bikes show for SUN quali. At least I have the whole entire course memorized!!!

Did you have him saying "hella" by the time he finished spanking the AMA's? You should see him tapped out on a CR250 down an Olympic bobsleigh run, comedy!

As for bicycles, Cameltoe could for sure wrap up a big one this weekend, the depth of talent right through the top 30 is immense.

I'm pretty sure that back then people in so cal didn't say "hella", or at least no one did in San Diego...

I blame nor cal for the whole thing.

The dumb thing is I almost want to sit at home and watch the racing instead of actually getting out on my bike

Can I just say that DH tracks with giant berms and moto stepdowns are "IN" and I am "JEALOUS". Gonna send Sean at Diablo a request to open up those lame berms in the last part of the course to look like Andorra berms!!! :D

Heh - still dreaming about the lower part of Utah that I took you on with the Step-up and berm section?

You should see the new step-up they added next to the fire road section of the US Open course before the double step down. Pretty sweet - I'll be hitting it next weekend, so I'll let you know how it is. Looks like you can hit it wide open and clear the deck to the other side, landing just before the first step-down.

Andorra looks pretty rad - I like the tree section although I think it's gonna be a pin-ball game if it rains and gets sloppy.

Is Cedric wearing a Leatt Brace? If so - that's good to see!

Sam looked all business in that practice shot. I think he's seriously pissed after getting 2nd to Smitty at the Open - might be looking for a bit of revenge...

lol. I'm not quite that bad, but I am considering taking my laptop to a race, including camping in an undoubtedly muddy field, on the off-chance I can get a wireless connection!

I know Cedric owns a bar on the mountain (the Podium) but I didn't know he had a bike shop too. He totally must feel like king of the castle when he's back home.
