Who is this lady? I saw the cnn clip where she said Canadians are lucky the US doesn't roll over one day and take over.

I went to the book store yesterday and saw a couple of books written by her. One of them was "How to talk to a Liberal (if you must)." Based on the fact that she's publicly 'right-wing', trash talks and insults anyone that doesn't agree with her, I'm assuming it's just a gimmick so she can collect the $$$. Controversy sells right?
I also got a kick at how she was pissed Canada sent troops to Vietnam but didn't want to participate in Iraq!!

It's an oxymoron I know, but she's a kind of frother sex-symbol.
I see her as more of a human slinky. Doesn't have any real purpose but brings a smile to your face when you push her down the stairs.

just a thought, if you shaved her head and painted her face grey, she'd kinda look like the Iron Giant from that cartoon movie.
As far as her being "dumb". She knows exactly what she's doing, tapping into a market and making plenty of money. She's like Micheal Moore of the right without the tits or twinkies.

I don't criticize her for her faux-pas about the Canadian troops in Vietnam. She is paid to have an opinion about everything, and when she was corrected, she backed down. If she had continue to spew, then it would be a different story.

I saw the CBC piece on conservative broadcasters, and there was a Canadian "Ann Coulter" that insisted there were WMD in Iraq, even when reminded that the US Govt had basically said "whoops". She was a f8cking idiot.

Not that Coulter is some genius. In a few years, when conservative talk goes the way of "Friends" and grunge rock, she will be doing the 2am-6am overnight shift at KTALK radio.

her whole point in that statement was that the left trotts out these woman all over the media to denounce Bush and campaign for Democrats on the basis that the right isn't allowed to repudiate them because they "lost someone and we can't relate". Granted she was pretty harsh about it but she makes a valid point.
I personally couldn't care if she offends people on the left as I don't see her as being as bad or any worse than people like Alec Baldwin, Al Frankin, Micheal Moore, Genine Garafolo, Ted Turner, Howard Dean, etc.

It is the fact that she fails to say what you did but rather turns it into an attack on the women themselves. She is not addressing the issue, she is attacking the widows. People like her are pulling the politics of the US into the sewer and it will not do the country any good.

Regardless of whether any of the other people you mention are shining beacons of virtue she is a divisive, dishonest bitch.

WTF? How is it any worse than the John Stewarts, Jay Lenos, whatever... The presidency is now officially a joke. People dont care because no one respects a damn thing. Ann Coulter goes out and yanks chains just like everyone else. Its just that she's conservative that there's so much hate. "People Like Her" is a pretty broad term. Pretty Broad wasnt a pun by the way:rofl:

And what point is that, that they should hurry up and pose in Playboy because their shelf life is expiring? Please educate me on this one. How is she much different than say Fred Phelps?

It's one thing to be a critic of the left for how they allegedly use these widows it's a whole other ball game to specifically single them out.

How many terror attack victims are they belittling? Politicians are fair game in the mud slinging IMO, but people that had nothing to do with the events they found themselves in, terror victims, military personel shouldn't be treated as such.

You say that as if American politics aren't already in the gutter.
You know they do say that D.C. is Hollywood for ugly people. I never considered people from Hollywood to be the most erudite individuals.

These people made themselves public figures, they have been making tv and campaign appearances and are actually funded by left wing activist groups. That alone makes them fair game in my opinion.

You're telling me that if some victims came out and said "Good for the war, we love president bush, etc.." that they wouldnt face some criticism:rolleyes:

They would face NO critisicm becuase they wouldn't be given a forum from which to express their view save maybe Shawn Hannity's show (he likely has already done that)

Does Ms. Coulter specify these individuals? It sounded to me like she was making a blanket statement about all the victims?

So they are on TV, and active, you can comment about their activites and disagree with them without being outright disrespectful. Politicians being swarmy and underhanded mostly deserve the comments they get, they make a living at it, are these ladies being just as swarmy and underhanded as our elected officals?

Her comments were so over the top it makes me think no sane person would actually mean that stuff, it must be "tongue in cheek" and a way of stirring the pot for sales of her new book.

So do you feel that attacking them personally on an emotional level is a good thing to do? Avoiding the issue because the issue is harder to deal with?

They might but if they were attacked personally in the same way then it would be equally wrong. Can you not see that to defend this behaviour simply because you disagree with the views of those attacked, yet denigrate it if you did agree is irrational?

Yeah, she's stirring the pot, which is what her whole entire carreer is based on, sort of like Rush and pretty much all the extreme (right and left wing) comentators out there. It's what passes for debate now-a-days. It certainly does most of the time in here (won't mention any names....)

She doesn't need to be correct, she just needs to be inflamatory. Using people's emotions will sway them better than the facts and will lead to more profit.
