So my senior sales guy has been sitting on a project for two months now. One of his clients is ambivalent about re-creating his jewelry catalog -- which is absolutely fvcking atrocious.

He could totally sell the project, but hasn't done anything. Just the production/design side would be $10k. Ok, not a lot of money, but that's just for my department. Since I'd be doing everything, including the photoshoot, I could get my boss to easily allocate at least $1000 for a new camera... I was looking forward to a new toy.

It must be nice to not need money since commission on the whole project would have to be atleast a couple thousand.

Stupid sales people.

Ok, thanks for letting me rant.

Funny thing is that the people that are critical of sales folks are usually the pencil pushing pvsses that were generally too afraid to get out from behind [insert object here] and actually generate sales.

Stupid techy know it alls, commonly referred to as overhead.

Just sayin

On the flip side, you drunks wouldn't have anything to sell (or even get your emails) without "overhead"

Just sayin..... :bonk:

Nice generalization there. Let me guess, you're one of the sales people that don't follow up and you're taking my rant personally. Just grab a vodka tonic and it'll be all ok.

FWIW, I offered to go with said lazy sales person and help sell/close the account, so, ya know, don't interupt the adults while they're speaking.

That's just dumb since your vendor could be partially responsible.

I thought techy geeks were detail oriented?
seeing as how you took it so personally, I figured you were one of them lying salesguys who promise what you can't deliver.

I hate sales and would be a pussy who hides behind any object. Mostly because I hate poeple. (sucks for the people I manage).

But I am an acoholic! Who wants a drink?

Don't have to be a sales person to do sales, and be decent at it. Helps when you love what you're selling.
Mmm, drinking...
