Well sure it's about 1.3 US hours to the canadian hour right now, but you can only use canadian hours for hockey watching and moose ****ing.

I'd forgotten about that. If this is what I assume Fluff is talking about, if you drive due east from Perth, after about 1000 kilometres you cross into a time zone 45 minutes ahead of Perth time. Approx 7 people, a rabbit and 2 dingoes live in that time zone. Very odd.

It does seem like a complete waste of money though.

In the UK we're an hour behind continental Europe and it's such a pain in the butt when you work with or travel to other countries a lot. There's no reason for us not to be the same but still a lot of resistance to the idea.

It confused the bejeebus out of me. But then any time I drive across a timezone it confuses me, Utah/Arizona did the same; drove like an idiot to catch the sunset (as advertised) at the Grand Canyon only to have to wait ages for the sun to go down...
