I have a new bike that came with avids elixir cr brakes on it(it an 09 motobecane phantom team)well i loved these brakes out of the box im a Clydesdale and i could lock up the back wheel with one finger on pavement, not that i do that much tires are too expensive, just an indication of how well they worked. well after maybe 5 rides and nothing too epic at all now both front and back brakes are starting too fail i keep getting air in the reservoir at the lever, i bleed them and ride a short bit and the brake gets spongy check reservoir again and it needs bleeding again. this is kinda disconcerting cause i really liked these brakes out of the box, anybody else have any problems like this or suggestions as too fixing this problem at all. right now im waiting on a new back brake from sram after going thru my LBS too contact sram for warranty issue, only too have my front brake start the same thing now so may have too try replacement on that as well.any input would be great thanks all and ride hard.

One thing that has a big impact on the CRs is that you can pretty much unscrew the whole adjuster that contains the hose coupling (red part) and the brake will get messed up.

So if you know you have this adjuster far out in it's travel that may affect.

Other then that, the brakes could have a leak at some point, you may not have bled them properly or they may just be built badly.

In the latter case you should get new ones on warranty claims.
