Any experience with Sram XG999 cassette?

I'm looking to drop some weight off my bike and one thing I'm considering is the cassette. I looked at dura ace but I run a Sram drive with an X9 shortcage.

Sram has a cassette XG999 that is quite light. I coppied some of the "stats" on it below. It is quite expensive but will shed at least a 1/4 lb (100+g) and I'm also going to throw on a KMC chain with it. I've had issues in the past with destroying cassettes. I've actually torn cogs off off the cassette body on two different occasions under high load (standing to sprint)...very odd. I am wondering if anybody else has used this and if they have had any issues. I don't want to eliminate cogs (NO SEVEN OR SIX SPEED SUGGESTIONS) And I also like the idea of keeping the 11-32 range.

Any thoughts? Good or Bad?

XG999:
11-30 : 166g (including 4g Lockring)
11-32 : 175g (including 4g Lockring)
11-34 : 187g (including 4g Lockring) Upon request there is a SL-Kit which consists of a full Titanium 11t cog and plastic spacers that replace the parts on the standard-Version and which save ca. 8g - please ask!

*Weights of "SL-Version":
11-30 SL: 157g (including 4g Lockring)
11-32 SL: 167g (including 4g Lockring)
11-34 SL: 180g (including 4g Lockring)

*Material/Colour:
11-32 cassettes come with BLACK coloured aluminium spider (picture shows red), Titanium-cogs (11t is steel) and aluminium spacers and also include the aluminium lockring.
11-34 cassettes come with red coloured aluminium spider, Titanium-cogs (11t is steel) and aluminium spacers and also include the aluminium lockring.
SL-Cassettes additionally come with a full titanium 11t cog and plastic spacers.

*Comparing weights of other MTB cassettes:

Shimano XTR CS-M980 11-32: 223g
Shimano XTR CS-M980 11-34: 244g
Shimano XTR CS-M980 12-34: 251g

Shimano XT CS-M770 11-32: 255g
Shimano XT CS-M770 11-34: 296g

SRAM PG-990 11-32: 271g
SRAM PG-980 11-32: 273g
SRAM PG-970 11-32: 322g
SRAM PG-990 11-34: 295g
SRAM PG-980 11-34: 307g
SRAM PG-970 11-34: 402g

My roadie friends complained about the top of the line sram casettes. I'm not sure how much ideas this one shares with red stuff but supposedly they don't live very long. Though their casettes go through much more than ours.

my friend just started using the 11-32 version with his Session 88. only has a few runs on it so far and no issues.
the thing is damn light and pretty cool looking but a ton of money even at his EP price

Is it recommended to match your cassette brand with your derailleur/shifter brand? I've been running a X9 short cage with X9 shifters on a 11-21 Ultegra cassette for the past two seasons with no problems.

Not where I'd like
Ive seen a small number of Red cassettes with issues involving the back plate coming loose. And those were on road bikes. If looking for DH use, I would reserve it for race day only.

Where did you find the info on the 34T cassettes?
NONE of our distributors even list them. I'm currently planning on XTR, but it I can go 999 with a 34T I will for sure for my Reign.

really?

i saw on average 5000-8000 miles on those red drivetrains on my elite and pro road racers the past few seasons.

literally 3x the durability of DA (2-3000 miles).

A good friend of mine is a female road team manager - he claims the first year they were in they were really bad. Maybe sram changed something. I doubt he is talking out of his ass.

fair enough. interesting feedback. i wonder if they were testing pre-release product.

i was head wrench on an 12 man open/pro & cat 1/2 road team in colorado for the first 2 years of red's availability in the marketplace and base the above findings on these 12 rider's experience.
