http://www.gptours.com/index.php?command=show&what=news&id=7303May 1 (GMM) More reports are suggesting Mark Webber could be Ferrari-bound.
One of Spain's leading F1 correspondents, Raymond Blancafort, wrote in El Mundo Deportivo that "there may be a pre-contract" between the Maranello based team and Red Bull's experienced Australian driver.
Webber, 35, was also linked with Ferrari last year, before Red Bull decided to sign him up for another single season alongside Sebastian Vettel.
yeah the upper portion of the track is elevated from the river but the whole track just looks boring to me. at least Monaco has some challenging cornersIt's got some good elevation change though, doesn't it?
It'll be like Monaco without the history, charm, or class. Right up Bernie's alley.
the track looks awesome and id love to go but im planning on going to the NJ race if it happensWho's planning on going to Austin, TX, any monkies?
But flying people around the world to race bicycles creates trees and rainbows. The pollution coming from the actual racing is negligible compared to the pollution coming from the logistics side of it. So following that logic we should also stop bands from touring, athletes from competing anywhere they can't walk to and maybe ban holidays on foreign soil.I just dont see the attraction to car racing...call me a hippy, but it seems to be nothing but air and noise pollution, wasteful of the Earths resources...but thats just me.
This. The healthy by product is r&d. While the engine in a roadgoing mercedes will have next to nothing in common with their f1 engine they will have made a lot of advances that make the engines last longer and run more efficiently. Traction control systems were developed for racing and have made driving a lot safer.
What exactly is the healthy by product of bicycle racing?
It might have a lower carbon footprint but it still has an unnecessary carbon footprint. Also a lot of people drive to a spot where they want to ride.Gee, I dont know. It has a lower carbon footprint, it promotes a human healthy Earth friendly activity, it doesnt pollute or put a huge strain on natural resources...r&d efforts for Lance Armstrong trickle down to us alot faster than R7d for Michale Shumaker...
I just dont dig auto racing...I shoulda stayed out of this one, but last time I checked this was a cycling board. I knew someone would get their panties wadded up over it.
Good point, but personally I think most race cars in general aren't driven daily for a reason, and thats to not leave a noticable carbon footprint. And just an fyi, don't go to an NHRA drag racing event if you don't want to see and feel a "carbon footprint" shake your body, rattle your teeth and make you cry all at the same time. mmmmmm nitroBut seriously. This is the only sport that pollutes as a direct by product of the activity. Car racing pollutes. Period. And for what? Is there any healthy by product? (The answer is no.)
drag racing has nothing on these eco friendly bad boysAnd just an fyi, don't go to an NHRA drag racing event if you don't want to see and feel a "carbon footprint" shake your body, rattle your teeth and make you cry all at the same time. mmmmmm nitro
