Up 10 to 15 cents/gal here, mainly on panic and expected rise. A few places in goddamn NJ racked up the price to 5.65/gallon. And this was a hike on fuel already in the tank at the station. By and far, it seems to be settled. If the news media (Fox News in particular) hadn't have started with such drastic stories, it might not have risen at all. Apparently not much impact from hurricane, trading at it's lowest in months.

I rode the bus. Fares went from $1.75 to $2.00 each way on September 1st. That's the second increase in 2 years.

I don't even look at the price....

There was a run on gas in the charlotte area....my bother was able to get diesel for 3.95...people were bitching that all the regular and mid grade levels were out and they had to buy premium.

my bus pass is still a $12 tax-exempt deduction per paycheck, so no gouging here

So how low will oil go? I'm guessing it might stabilise around the $80 mark but it's still in freefall it seems so it might even go lower. $60?

I suspect that if the Fed lowers interest rates here to stop the Wall St. freefall, the declining dollar will raise it back above $100.
