chez moi
I had several sets of the ancient first-gen, pre-mono Hopes (2 and 4 piston both) and they were great, other than what I found to be fragile hose fittings that would break off in crashes. I even had a set of the C2 closed-system, that had a dial-controlled piston in the master cylinder instead of the rubber diaphragm...ultimate bite-point control, lol. My first discs.

They were huge and heavy but did the job. Went to Hayes after too many busted Hope fittings at Big Bear...not their fault, but I crashed like 15x a day back then.

Had meh experiences with various types of Magura, mostly the mechanics of the lever bodies.

Loved my Shimanos till they started being randomly and totally non-functional. Servo wave and bite adjust were awesome, but the reliability just wasn't there.

Happy with the dead-nuts-simple TRPs I just started with now....they remind me of my old no-nonsense Hayes Mags.
