after breaking my big toe foot bone last year i've been trying to find a shoe to keep me going. I tried the addidas hemos but they killed my foot to put on,tried some shimano bmx shoes wich are pretty good but i'm looking around for somthing with more protection. Searched for some specialized high tops i thought i saw posted here? Was even willing to run sidi avalanches but could't find them anywhere in sz 12's. any help appreciated.

Alpinestar use to make a DH 3/4 shoe a couple years back. I've seen some in mag ads as closeouts, Cambria maybe or wheelworld. They had good protection in them.

i just chopped off my feet ad make new ones out of swedish steel. they are unbreakable now. ebay dude, fifteen bucks!

Adidas Hematoma has an armor toebox. I think go-ride.com has them in stock. They have saved me more than once.

http://www.ridemonkey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=106542 click on shoes, and then click on the DH shoes. Also, Lake makes a burlier shoe, Cannondale hiker style boots are pretty strong. I'm assuming you want clipless shoes also.
Here's an idea.Go down to the shoe store, buy a set of work shoes that have the carbon steel toe, take them to a shoe resoler and have him slap a clipless plate out of a set of your old shoes in the footbed. Then you're set. Make sure the shoe repairman is the one who takes the plate out of your old shoe so he can rig it in the new one!

The only shoes I know of are the hematoma and the Specialized DH shoe. The specialized shoe is way more comfy.....
