I'm coming down again and this time I'm definitely bringing my bike so I'll either hit a race, or BB, or both

Edit: I found a site that has a race calendar: the Cal State race is the weekend before I get there (10/11th). Thanks anyways, doesn't look like there are any races. Big Bear it is!
