Anybody ever try IRC Trail Bear tires?
I am really liking the ride of blue grooves, but have cut the sidewall six times on the rear. I need something tougher. I am thinking about this tire -

Or this tire -

Give a brutha some thoughts.

i ride weirwolfs and so far, for east coast conditions, there pertty sweet. IMO, they pack with mud easily. also, some people have washout problems with the rear but just mount it backwards and be happy!

I've ridden two. One just minutes ago. I like them as a rear tire. They work well for the conditions here and don't pack up with mud, cheap, wear well, roll fast, right size and good weight.

I use a Weirwolf for a back tire and like it. Good traction and durability. Put it this way...I went thru a Specialized Roller Pro and a Panaracer Smoke in a couple of months on the rear, I tore them to pieces. But then I decided to try the Weirwolf and problem solved. The Trailbears look good though. :thumb:

Welp - I ordered both since the tires were less than $20 a piece. Now that I ordered the trail bears a cat on MoJo offered up 2 brand new ones for $25 for both. I may have 2 pairs of them when it is all done.

*having many tires is good since I am on this 'cut a tire on every ride regimen'. :(

I used to ride a set of Trailbears. They were good but unremarkable tires. By that I mean that they grabbed pretty well but not spectacularly. They didn't pack up too bad with mud. They rolled pretty fast but not really fast. While not outstanding, they also didn't have any real shortcomings. They were average in a good way.

That make sense?

That's what I am looking for. Since I find tires that I love and they fail, average should work well. Kind of like the ugly girl friend thing.

The tires came yesterday and performance sent me 2.3 weirwolfs instead of 2.5s. I put one on the back and it is fatty bo batty. How big are the 2.5s??? Sheesh. I like the looks of the weirwolf and the trailbear. Gots 2 more trailbears coming from a cat in Dallas from my MoJo thread about these. Barring rain, tonight they get their first audition with a trailbear up front and a weirwolf in the back. More to follow of course. :D
