I'm helping my MIL buy a car and need somebody to test drive a car for me at a SLC Subaru dealer. Anybody in SLC who can do me a favor?

Why stoney not just go with Heuberger like the rest of the state?

Does your local dealer not have a price match option? I'm sure you already checked this but thought Id mention. Our local dealer was something like your situation (3k more) and I showed them out of state dealers price and they matched. No muss no fuss...

My experience with Subaru was that new deals often would match low mile CPOs. You got an email quote on a new one from Heuberger, right?

As long as it has two head gaskets it doesn't matter how many big holes are in them.
i only ask because...

i have never heard a subaru 4 cylinder engine that did not sound like a bucket of bolts being dropped when started

They stopped having head gasket issues over 10 years ago...

Non-turbo EJ20 engines were the primary guilty parties. Once Toyota got involved in engine design, things got much better re: reliability, which already was pretty damn good *cough* American and German cars *cough*

They do have a weird starter motor sound. Flat six Porsches also don't sound the best when they're started or even running.

You should listen to some direct injection BMW's. They sound broken while running...

And a lot of Mercedes sound broken when they first start too.
