We have one here that is becoming antiquated. It going to cost us $3k to have caller ID added to it.

Anybody know any cheap alternatives? We would be willing to buy a whole new system if need be.

call around, a lot of the major companies have moved to VOIP technology and can develop you a phone system without the hardware. Computers, they're the future!

Article in the latest Bicycle Retailer about SRAM going to an all voip system since they deal with Chicago, Colorado, Taiwan, and Germany all the time. People just take their phones with them and plug them in to the network when they get to the destination for full access to voice mail and cheap calls. My previous employer (huge, btw) was doing the same thing since they deal with NY, CT, and Shanghai on a regular basis as well as contractors all over the world.
