I need (read: really badly want) a new trail bike and this thing seems perfect. I just don't want to sell my bike now and be bikeless for months. I only want the frame and I will build it with my existing parts so it's not like I'm waiting on a Fox 36 or any other OEM parts...

(sorry if the pic is too big, I realize that not everybody has a 20" widescreen G4 like me :D )

That bike would be so rad if Specialized would warranty their stuff when it breaks. Santa Cruz Heckler or Blur sounds better to me and probaly costs the same.

Specialized is awesome about warranty, I have broken a few of them and had ZERO issues getting replacments. The new frames now carry a lifetime gay-ron-tee anywhoo...

Option 1:
Lemme guess, dual crown fork on an Enduro, broken headtube = no warranty

Option 2:
"JRA"

Well it could be 'cause specialized has reseased the 05 bikes
I know that some '05's are available but it's not uncommon for the higher-end models to wait until Jan. or so. I can call and find out tomorrow but I was bored and thought I'd ask.

Hey Sean, does a 21" LCD count? :blah:

Seriously though, I'm really diggin that thing too. It would be an ideal replacement of my Trek Liquid.
That counts for sure!

It looks like it's time for you to "Liquid-ate" AHAHAHAHHAAAHAHAHAH

:help: me from myself

around 1997 i think, at least that's when i remember 6" travel bikes becomming mainstream for a few manufacturers (i know of examples before, but they weren't produced in many numbers).

really, what's the point? we've had 6" bikes for a LONG time...

This is the 4.2" travel SX, I don't want a 6" bike, I think that's a bit much for the amount of climbing and general efficiency I am looking for.

I currently have a 4" travel 4-bar bike and I just want very something similar but newer and nicer.

I really hope the idea to put lightning bolts on a frame at least started as a joke.

This one may not climb so hot either, being that it is a mtx-specific frame. they usually cllimb like shyt.

The geometry is better suited to climbing than the regular Enduro (steeper HTº) and with less travel, a horst 4-bar and a platform shock, I'm sure this bike will climb just fine. Also unlike many MTX bikes there is plenty of room for seat height adjustment. Climbing isn't my main concern though, the trails I usually ride have climbing and jumps/drops so I think this bike will be really good for all of that.

At 68-69 it will not climb too well. Are the Enduros even sl;acker than that?
Yes the regular Enduro's are more slack but a 69º head angle is not a guarantee of poor climbing. The geometry of the SX is very close to my current bike which I climb a lot on and find it to be extremely efficient. This thread is not about the geometry, but thank you for your concern...
