I have been here damn near a year, and on a daily basis my supervisor will "remind" (nag?) myself and others to do things that we do every single day as part of our normal job.

The contract is almost up... :weee: Thank god too, I have never worked in an IT dept that was more obviously run by non-IT people.

My boss' office is two doors down from mine. If I get an email from him, I can expect him to drop by in 5 seconds to tell me what is says.

Yeah, she does that sometimes but brings by a printed copy of the e-mail.

my sales staff will come to my office and ask why I haven't emailed them a proof yet... only to find out they didn't bother checking their email any time in the past hour.

My boss is the same way. I gave my two weeks last Tuesday. I start my new better paying, non customer service job on the 26th after my week (riding) break between jobs. =]

I offically 'checked out' today.

That sounds like a dream job. No chance of a contract extension? First they block RM, now they want you to do stuff? The nerve of some poeple. My job doesn't pay me enough to work, that is extra. :D

I consider myself very lucky. My ‘boss’ and I have worked together for the last 5 years. We started together as equals but there came a time that somebody had to be the leader and she was tapped out. I knew it from the start that she was the one. But since her and I both think alike we work well together and she doesn’t have to ‘boss’ me. We both have the same goal and we pick up each other’s slack when necessary without so much as a word.
I don’t make a very good salary but the environment and the hours and the people seriously can’t be beat, right now.
Hey anybody looking for an ElectronicDataInterchange Specialist/Analyst with 10 years in medical mgt look me up!

I have been one of the youngest people at my company for the past 6 years. Not exactly a lot of new blood in these parts. Every time I get a new boss they seem to put me through the ringer to test me, I have always just gone along with it. I recently have a new boss that I have had no past experience with, he has decided to do the same old "give the kid s****t" (I am 32 for christ sakes). This time around I refuse to put up with it and have decided to give him twice the crap he throws at me. So far it has been working well although I have gotten to the point where being professional and polite are getting tough. Actually today I made him carry a bunch of large packages back to shipping for me. Not sure how I did that, but at this point we are like a pair of dogs trying to fight for dominance.

You should pee on him in your next meeting and claim your territory, I think the problem is the Alpha dog (you) hasn’t marked his territory yet.

For sure, quit or just deal with it. Once a week you post something about how you job, or your supervisor suck. All supervisors suck...I'm a supervisor and I suck....my supervisor sucks at time....

Well, I am a "boss" of approximately 20 + employees (some with direct and some with indirect supervision) of a human service organization. And yeah I have to remind people of their job, but only when I know that they know better especially after several years of being on the job...The old, "oh, I forgot..." line gets really, really old sometines, especially when your job is to help others, ya know?

I do find it interesting that I generally have to do this with mainly the men (and only the 40+ year olds) and rarely with any employees who are women. The young guys and ladies are on it!

Right now I am biding my time waiting for the contract to end. I can't really quit as the company I work for probably wouldn't be very likely to put me somewhere else.

Plus I have had plenty of supervisors that don't suck, they STFU let me do my job and everyone was happy. This one however takes micro management to the extreme.

It is especially annoying when I am in fact doing my job, and she comes up while I am in the middle of something and reminds me to do exactly what it is I am currently doing. When I point that dact out, she just walks away only to come back later with "Make sure that you do (insert the obvious)."

Plus I don't let the monkey interfere with my job, I surf here quite a bit but I have gotten quite good at multi tasking.

On the flip side of this why do I have to remind people to do there job and stop f*cking off. I am a project manager/estimater for an eletrical company and I have some people that need to be nudged back in the right direction on a regular basis. I am not pushy and take a very hands off aproach to most of the projects I take care of. It just pisses me off that it seems like it is always the same people I have to get on, somedays I feel like a baby sitter.

If that was the case that things were not getting done I would understand, but it isn't. Nobody that I work with has any problems doing what needs to be done.

We are all professionals and know our jobs.

It is not so much that things arnt getting done, it is more them just pushing the limits when they think no one is looking. it is mostly stuff like being late, leaving early, taking long breaks and lunches that kind of stuff. Granted I work in construction so most of the guys dont fit the professional mold and are kinda rebels to start

Maybe I am just being a bitch about the whole thing, god knows that in general I have been far more angry and pissy since moving up here. I just wish I could get away from everything for a good long while...
