Turns out one of my co-workers (16 yo) played a trick on me, and redirected my liberal news sources to Fox.
Pretty sneaky.

There is a system file in the directory
windows\system32\drivers\etc
named "HOSTS" - NO extension.
In this file, you can map web address's to IP addresses.
This enables you to type in xxx.yyy and it will check this file, and if found send you to the assoiated IP no matter what it actually is.
Have a look in this file to see if your favorite sites are listed.
if they are either comment them out, or delete them.
Make sure the file is saved in same location with the same name - make sure that the editor does not add an extension.

If you're using Windows 10, when editing HOSTS you need to start your editor as an administrator. If none of this makes sense, find a friend with the proper chops.
