I think I saw something similar in a Supergo catalog a few weeks ago, but they weren't the same. I think they're roadie, but I don't see what would be wrong with using them for XC, aside from possibly the cleat clogging with dirt. They're really weird looking...its just like a spindle wrapped in nylon, but they claim to be the next biggest thing in pedals. Who knows. I want to try them out.

kinda weird until I went to their web site and saw that the cleat looked like......but what if the cleat gets gunked up with mud - seems to me it would just compact the mud into the cleat trying to get clipped in.

Yeah, it doesn't look like theres away to clear the mud out. I suppose if you cut holes in the front and back of the cleat it might work.

The ones I saw in the supergo catalog engaged differently, but they were just as minimal. I can't find them on the website, I'm going to go and search through my archives of catalogs to find them
