Hurricane Hanna tried to ruin ours. Fortunately we planned for an indoor ceremony but the other half wanted pictures on the beach.
11 am day of I'm at a restaurant (BAR) with a good friend and my future brother in law.
Local marina guys are talking about boats being hauled or otherwise tied tight. Windds are picking up and skies are gray.
Bartender finds out its my weddingday pours a triple bloody mary.
Marina guys over hear and buy next round, and the one after that.
Meet my brother at hotel, get dressed and hit bar for a beer.
Arrive at wedding place, I do, she does, pictures are taken and then the rain and wind hit. I proceed to drink my fill and so far we've all lived happily ever after.

Drink up my friend. Just make sure you can get through the ceremony, dinner and first dances. Ours was a blast. If we ever have a daughter her name will be Hanna

It was sunny and 85 degrees for my wedding. Even though that sounds ideal the one thing that really sucked was that the church was not air conditioned so we were all sweating like crazy during the ceremony.

It was 109 for my outside wedding/reception. I couldn't drink fast enough to catch up with what I was losing through perspiration.

Who'd a thunk there'd be a hurricane smack in the middle of peak hurricane season?

My namesake hurricane threatened our wedding but the sun, like my sobriety, appeared on cue for all the important bits.

Boy, if rain on your wedding day is supposed to be lucky, a hurricane must mean you will go on to world domination.

that reminds me, Jon, the Tux is ready to pick up.
You wouldn't mind if I perhaps use it as part of a Halloween costume prior to your wedding?
Halloween in NYC; nothing a little febreeze and lint roller can't fix.

Allow me to clarify myself after last night's fit of rage.

It's not so much the storm I'm worried about, it's the aftermath. The storm we had this time last year left many people without power for up to a week (I was without power for almost 3 days). Took days to get all the roads open.

Not to mention the wedding is in Maryland, which its notoriously ill prepared for even the mildest winter weather.

Our ceremony was slightly miserable, but not hosed. Normal early-September weather in Colorado is great. On the day of our wedding, with an outdoor ceremony, it was cool, cloudy and drizzly. It started at about forty-five degrees and by the time we had finished and left the ceremony, the temp had dropped to the high thirties.

I rode my bike down the aisle on a beautiful Spring day in SoCal, then rode off in a horse-drawn carriage. It was awesome.

loved it. i was tempted to pull a manual, but thought the risk wasn't worth it. didn't want to take out the bride's family that early in the game.

after our horse-drawn loop, we did all the usual wedding stunts (with a twist, of course).

getting an original artwork present from Joey Krebs and the story he told with it was amazing (improv fictional tale about how he met us in a buht sekks chatroom etc. . . . bride's super-christian mom blew up and started yelling at him, but he kept rolling with the story).

This guy's predicting 3-4 feet of snow on certain parts of the eastern sea-board... I hope you're not in "southwestern PA, Western MD and esp. West VA"

good luck, and whatever happens, have fun!

    congratulations.

My older nephew just got married the end of September in Wanatchee, WA. When my folks arrived, they were telling me how, during setting up the day before, the fire smoke was so bad, they had to wear masks if they went outside. A bit worried then, however, the day of was clear and gorgeous, as shown in their video they teased me with with what I missed.

I think a little firefighter I know helped blow the smoke away for that beautiful day.....
