Manufactured (veneer) stones are used on the exterior of buildings. They look like rock but are really more like tiles.

Anyhow, I'm am wanting to use a row of them as a course over the top of the arched windows (a.k.a. lintels ) on the house I am building. I was wondering if anyone has installed them directly to brick?

Typically they are installed over the sheeting with metal lath and mortar then a layer of epoxy. So you have the brick already up and you want them over that right? I have never done it over standard brick but I have seen it done over cinder block. They just mortar over it and then attach the panels to that with grout/epoxy cement like stuff. I am sure it would be the same process. No lath is needed in your climate probably. Cool stuff up high but it looks cheezy down at eye level IMO. Real stone is the way to go IMO.....jdcamb

Cool.

I was thinking about having the mason cut an inch and a half off of the soldier course bricks. This would allow the manufactured stones to be at the same depth as the bricks around it.

I could use some masonary anchors to hold a bit of wire lath over the bricks but I am thinking that's over-kill.

I'm going to finish off the windows with a pair of site built cypress shutters with a semi arch at the top.
