Anyone ever used Crank Brother Candy pedals?

I had the Candy C's and didn't like the engagement. I swear, I could never get my right foot out of them!!! Then I went out, got some Time ATAC Carbon and it was love...

Guess it's a personal preference - I prefer the engagement feel of the Times.

If you want a platform, you should check out the mallet's. I had some candy's for a bit, and imho, the platform doesn't really do anything. After about 4 or 5 rides, the cages were obviously worn, but the only part of the platform that didn't look new was the very outside, mostly from hitting rocks and stuff. Maybe it was my shoes or something, but I didn't feel any more secure unclipped on those than I did on the eggbeaters they replaced.

A little support while unclipped might be the advantage of the candys, but for the most part I think they are for people that can't psychologically deal with the eggbeaters. No matter how big or small the platform is, the pedal still rotates about a spindle which is about a half an inch in diameter, so what's the real point of a platform? It doesn't give you more support when clipped in, that comes from the mechansim, and the cage simply degrades the mud performance.

I don't hate the candys, but I fail to see the point of them, in other words the little cage doesn't really do anything. It just "looks" like it would support better.
