i'm going to a seminar in a couple of weeks, and the hotel hosting it is booked solid, so i've got to book another room. not sure where the best place to stay might be. any input is appreciated (the seminar is at the Hilton, and 4 other hotels in the immediate vicinity are booked too (westin, 4 seasons, NH and Dorint).

Yes, I have relatives there, if your referring to Germany that is.

Nope. My rental car agency made such a stink about it when I asked that I didn't go and just stayed West of Berlin's longitude.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn across the river. It was nice enough and fairly inexpensive. It is basically 2 subway stops north of the Hilton. It is right next to Rosenthalr Platz is all I can remember. It is in the new part of Berlin (the Mitte) but right next to the old part. Lots of cool stuff around there to do.....jdcamb

West of the gate is good, east is bad to OK. I guess east is getting better since I was there though.....
