Fun place. My best friend lives there. Cool down-town scene, lots of bars and resturants, etc. It was one of the first major down-town revitalization projects in the country. A lot of other places modeled their revitalization efforts after Chattanooga.

Besides being a cool city, it is very centrally located for all kinds of outdoors activities. Excellent climbing in every direction, Rock City, Horsepens, Rocktown, you name it (I'm sure you already knew that). Some of the sickest WW paddling (serious gnar) in the world rolls off the Cumberland plateau just west of the city. I read somewhere that there is a MTB trail inititive in place. Some club was tasked with building 100 miles of singletrack within an hour of the city. I think that they are well on their way to making it happen. If I could find a job there I'd move in a minute.

If you decide to go down and visit PM me, I'll try to hook you up with my friend. Something tells me you'd get a long swimmingly.

just move to Charlotte.
i had actually considered it but ti would not be conducive at all to my lifestyle and job preference. I would have to drive to far to go take pics of climbing or riding or paddling.

i am seriously considering this.....Flag is out of the question cause my buddy has moved on to CO now and i damn sure dont want to live in CO. Chatt is still in my beloved south and from my experiences is very much like asheville minus some hippies plus more hot girls and more affordable than here.

Umm, have you heard about the new US White Water center located here in Charlotte?

http://www.usnwc.org/

There is Rafting, riding and climbing all in one spot.

plus more hot girls and more affordable than here.
There are no Hot Girls in Charlotte, and they aren't friendly either

Ok well the Scooby Doo costume didnt hurt, but still!
