Hey Bull, I had the chance to try this beauty today in rather challenging conditions after three days of rain. What can I say, I never had a non-dh bike so supple and bump eating like this to date. It totally ate those wet roots like they were not there today. Mind blown, really.

Ancillotti Scarab SB with Fast shock and 38 with Vorsprung Smashpot and Fast SC5 cart.
My Titan with 36 Smashpot and @englertracing style modified Grip2 mk.1 and EXT Storia felt pretty harsh in comparison. Only caveat would be less liveliness on the Italian bug, but the amount of grip it provided was mind boggling. Will have another ride next week, have to do some smashing in better conditions.

Curious to hear your thoughts on the Fast stuff.

@Flo33 I ordered the shims I need as backup. I'm going to run stock shim stack and see .

Excited to try, Im taking it tomorrow am to go run the rocks and chatter...it feels good so far if it spikes then reshim...

BTW that bike is pretty badass I like the whole setup...looks and components...

We are headed to Mammoth mountain this weekend wife and I ..
I took ohlins off the nomad and did te Zeb with fast damper...I was looking to grab a runt for it till I modify the footnut for Ohlins.

Stuck vivid air on but I'm putting ttx22m back on since I'm a coil shock guy anywase...keep it where I'd ride it...bugs me to not have matching susp lol but usuat guts are redone anywase so it's a shell.

I'll beat in it tomorrow morning before we leave then Sunday we will get some shuttling in I'll jib while wife just cruises...

Is the Ohlins air cart crazy good or something?
Manitou IRC ,Formula and BOS have similar systems with adjustable air pressure, self balancing negative air and air adjustable midstroke rate.
Better, yes...(IMO)

Plus I have spare ohlins stuff for servicing and backup.

It's more linear and better mid support...alot better than fox or rockshox...
Also without adding progressive ramp up...

Similar feeling add ons would be dsd runt, secus
More coil like feeling, predictable, planted and controlled...

Hot today.. 90* speed wasn't bad but I was just riding back for the rock sections..

Fork is ridiculous...smooth, total mid speed support air is 230 lower110 top and left stack in cs5...I think I'm going to back off the mid speed slightly since the ohlins air cart gives me good support..mid valve on damper will back off the HSC a smidge..

Thing floats and is in and out of lin a didn't feel a weight transfer over bars from diving and it rolled over the rocks in corners well didn't kick out.

Thing was precision in rocks....

I am sticking coil back on .it matches the feel of the fork way better and BALANCED..

Daley is good for cardio and grind but has some washouts and rocks that are just nasty and you can carry speed through them as well as shift lanes ..makes a good tuning spot .

I know the chutes really well and where I need to be for what kind of hit I'm trying to mimic. Corners, drift speed blown out...it's my constant for tuning.

So I looked up something for @Rodge as far as putting a ohlins damper in a Zeb as well ..

It will handle the 180mm zeb air chasis...approx 10mm left over ...
Will get 4.75 full turns in and seals just fine .bottom drill out 12.2mm hole

Use a fox damper plastic oring for under foot nut to seal oil in lowers in

Also ohlins uses a distortion ring on end of stanchion to keep it's shape...(Just a cool fact you can't transfer this over)

Rockshox bought the factory that made stanchions for them and ohlins, apparently they made it not feasible for Ohlins to do after that so they sourced a new company and had certain criteria to maintain...1 out of 6 produced a stanchion that was up to par for Ohlins...

That said I haven't seen any issues with stanchions or wear but I know stuff can have issues...so I believe it .

Just spit-ballin' here, but you could always just keep your RXF38 as-is! ;)

(...it's always fun to tinker with stuff)
SHAME ON YOU @ChrisRobin SHAAAAAAAAAMMMMME!!!!

Like I tell Andrea "Why?, cause I can!" Lol

Besides when it doesn't go right it's usually while riding and makes YouTube gold ..then where would you be without tinkering ..bored and reading an encyclopedia for entertainment...

I had the sc5 damper from a fellow monkey and I'm always curious to try stuff.(I am always messing with something and that's the part I love).

The chasis was free sitting here and I had a few Ohlins air carts on the shelf . I have my rfx38 hanging on wall it's not going anywhere...

Was Frankenstein a necessary project, well HELL yes ..that's the ultimate tinkering...

Got the avy woodie still sitting on wall since acing bike with that size...probably see if Craig has the parts needed to size it to 250/75...

Not seen any? Maybe I should be checking bushings. Explains why it always goes on the same side. Can't understand why they wouldn't check lowers when I send it in for warranty though.

Send me a pic of where it's going....or area.
I see fox do this especially at ride height on shocks for E-Bikes...(ALOT).

I do see forks here and there with fade in the main ride height area. (Not alot but periodically)
Haven't seen an. Ohlins yet but anodizing is anodizing and wear does happen so I believe it..

Question:
When you sit and load bike where is the wear spot at that time...if there's a lower alignmet from a crash or twisted and it's slightly tilted you can get a wear spot where it rides at wiper seals...

That's what I've seen and shocks same scenario...they aren't Colin loading perfect there's a side load somehow

Yeah I get it... trying different things is cool. I think at one point I had 4 different shocks for the same bike just because I was trying things out.

Would an öhlins coil kit for a 38 fit and work in a Zeb?

Edit:
Looking at a picture it doesn't seem like it will!

Or maybe the shaft has the same diameter as Rockshox's and you could swap the neg plate? Is there a guide bushing or a seal on the above neg plate?

With spacing yes..they both fit the bottom foot nut the same..drill it out 12.22 approx and it drops right in, then a spring spacer if needed..top cap will screw right in and get 4.75 threads
.
I'd imagine it would and be easier, a spacer is an easy thing to make , of you know someone with a 3d printer it would be even easier..

Yeah it's pretty centred around sag on the air side, nothing on the damper side. I did rip the threads off an axle while riding so some kind of alignment issue wouldn't surprise me.
