I am building a bare bones PC for my sister in-law with some parts I have hanging around for just net surfing and stuff (very casual use).

Here is what I have laying around:

Processor – PIII 500/512/100/2.0V S1
Memory – (2) 256MB PC133
Video Card - PNY GF2MX200032SAGP
Storage – (2) Maxtor 5400 40GB
CDRW – Plextor 2410TA
CD – Some generic crap
NIC – Some generic crap

I am looking for a slot 1 motherboard preferably with onboard sound but not totally necessary since I probably have some cheap sound card around here too. I also need to buy a legit full version of an older OS so I can use an XP upgrade that I already own.

If anyone has one of these they can sell me cheap, or can point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.

If you get a chance, there is a place near Southcenter that has tons of old ass motherboards hanging on the wall. The usually go pretty cheap and most seem to be PII or PIII ATX boards.

I will have to look up hte name, but they are on West Valley in a strip mall.

I have a copy of NT4 lying around you can have, I just got to dig out the book.

Thanks!

Is NT4 on the list of stuff you can run an XP home upgrade?

I actually have a full 2000 pro but you can only upgrade to XP pro from it.
