OK, I started a new commute on Monday.......This means an hour in the car, each way, 5 days a week.

In my opinion, L.A. radio stations suck. I don't care what type of music you are into (I like hard rock/metal, but like really mellow stuff too) it's all talk (especially in the mornings) and the same 5 songs.

After three days of this, I'm about ready to tear the interior of my car apart. Does anyone on here have one of those XM things? Are they worth the cash?

Did a search before a posted the original and nothing came up, but after seeing your post I figured I just wasn't paying attention and made a typo....but I just did another search and still nothing comes up. Do you have the links to the threads? I'd like to read them....

Thanks!

Do a search. There were 2 threads not so long ago about XM and Sirrius, and people's opinions.

I turned up these three.

I've had XM for 4 months now and I love it. Some of the channels are a bit talky, but the channels I tend to favor, Fungus and XMU, aren't too bad. Some of the talk and news channels aren't 100% commercial free, but it still beats FM or AM.

I wish the jock that sometimes talks on Fungus would stop trying so hard to sound cool.

I listen to Fungus, Ethyl, Fred, whatever 47 is and some of the old country ones. What other ones am I missing??? I only use like 6 or 7. I never leave one range of presets.

Edit - Lucy too

Most of my presets are full, but I rarely leave one range: The 80s (8), XM Liquid Metal (42), XMU (43), Fred (44), XM Cafe (45), Squizz (48), Boneyard (41), Ethel (47), Fungus (53), Lucy (54). My wife has one range full of her stuff (E!, VH1, country, etc.) and the third range is pretty random: The System (Techno - 82), The Joint (Reggae - 101), XM Comedy (150), and traffic for DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and NYC (for Monkeyfest trips).

I'd say I'm on Fungus about 90% of the time.
