Anyone know the weight difference in disc brakes? (mech vs hydro)

I just want to confirm that maybe mechanical brakes would be lighter than hydro brakes. I'd be comparing Hayes mechanical to Hayes hydraulic brakes only. Anyone know?

Don't the weights quoted for the mechs not include cables and housing, and don't the weights for the hydros include brake line?
I'd question those weights, too. Weights are useless unless you know what was included and what wasn't.

edit: The difference between the Avid mechanical and Avid hydros (Ball Bearing 7 and Juicy 7) is not much. 353g for the mechs, 424g for the hydros, but the hydro weight includes the stock hose length, the mech does not.

Hydros are lighter by some. The weights quoted above do not include cables housings and levers . Go here for weights. http://www.weightweenies.starbike.com/

If weight weenies are correct Juicy and BB7 are similar weight wise. Functionaly hydraulic brakes are far superior to any mechanical brake. Very low maintenance requirements, virtually unaffected by mud and water, pads self adjust as they wear, better power and therefore better control. Although some brakes do modulate better than others.
