Wondering if anyone has this setup, or can provide input on the pro's or cons. I dont see much difference between this and a freewheel on the back/chainring on front.

Also wondering if running a trials ss is a good idea.

There are several people that run a fixed gear in the rear. The advantage is that you don't have to worry about the rear blowing out. Parts in the front are larger... etc.

SS isn't a bad idea at all. infact, being able to have a king cog in the rear adds to the over-all strength to the system. Just know what you want for gearing ahead of time.

also by doing ffw you can run an overall smaller drivetrain (18t front) for more clearance. thats almost exclusively what is run for mod.
