I need to estimate shipping costs for an M3 frame (I think they claim around 11lbs) to Puerto Rico. The problem is that UPS will only show the option of next day air at $180. Anyone have a guess at what ground would be, or the international equivelant?

USPS will only ship internationally if the item is less than a certain size, which I doubt the M3 frame falls into, since my Evil Imperial didn't make it.

If it's over their size restriction, there's an option called "global express guaranteed" which I found was still cheaper than most UPS or FedEx options, but not by a whole lot. It's not really through the USPS, though, they contract FedEx to make the delivery. However, it wasn't as cheap as most USPS options.

If the UPS website isn't showing ground as an option, they probably won't ship it that way. Ground wasn't an option when I shipped my frame to Australia either.

Doesn't 'ground' mean shipped in a truck? The last time I checked they hadn't finished the bridge between N America and Oz yet...?

Actually the first question is serious. Does 'ground' shipping really mean shipped overland...?

No, "ground" just means "not in an airplane".

So, it includes boats :)

Depends on the destination. I've shipped 3 frames to Europe without any problems. The postal service has a really whacky method of determining how big you can go...length+girth+something fierce and it's in a huge volume the size of three yellow pages.

USPS Priority to PR shouldn't be an issue though...no customs to go through, I'm nearly positive the size limit to PR is fairly large. FedEx or UPS will be way too costly to go there.
