I'm thinking about setting up a store so the local cycling club can buy shirts, bumper stickers, etc. Anyone ever use CafePress, either sold stuff through them or bought through them?

How is the service? How are the products, specifically the clothing? Is the quality decent?

I have used them in the past. In fact, I think I still have a store somewhere. The service seemed really good, the clothing quality was ok, but nothing special. It's really hard ot make any sort of money with it though, as the base prices are already higher in most cases than I would want to charge a customer retail.

I'm not all that concerned with making a profit. It's for a local cycling club, so I just want people to be able to get shirts/stickers whenever they want without me having to take orders and have batches printed up and all that.

I'll take a closer look at the pricing...

Ah cool, in that case cafepress sounds perfect for you.
I hope so. I'm on dial-up at home, so I didn't do much more than check out their site over the weekend. Now that I'm back at work (and on broadband), I'll open up a store and upload some artwork and see what happens.

Can you get a "sample" from them first? I've had mixed experiences buying from Cafe Press. Some good quality T's, some really bad ones too.

Jackson, have Tim (dirtmerchant on CNY) do them. He does amazing printing, he is local, he rides, and he's got good prices.
Yea, I know... I've talked with him about stuff before. If I do any large jobs I'll definitely go through him. But people sign up with the site and start asking when they can get shirts. I want to use cafepress so basic shirts and bumper stickers are available all the time.

If there comes a time when I want to do shirts for some event (like the IMBA visit coming up), I'll do a one-time deal and go through Tim.
