...know what the deal is with the so called Carbon Fiber Shortage?

A buddy of mine has had his Giant road bike delayed untill june sometime because of a shotage of material. Also, a few riders on a local team are waiting on Madone frames because of it.

What about the car parts world? Are they in a shortage too!?!

We're a Trek dealer and Madones are easy to come by right now...even Project One....not sure why the team frames are taking so long. I haven't heard of a carbon fiber shortage and I don't know why there would be one.

Indionesia only contributes 12% of the global influx of raw carbon fiber. So what's with the rest of the contributers?

It's a lot of little (<5%) suppliers - they just can't make up the difference.
