The Web site advertises, "Lo'ihi Seaview Estates: Real Estate for the Future. Grand Water View Front Lots." A photo of the sales office is a raft in the middle of the ocean.

Nichols and his business partner, Linda Kramer, both Honolulu entrepreneurs, envision online chat rooms and newsletters to discuss everything from street names to what kind of government to install. They want to hold a "homeowners association" meeting — a boat ride over the volcano — every April Fool's Day.

I suppose this would be kinda like you laughing uncontrollably at the retard that just bought your car after you totalled it by T-boning his car at an intersection...

The level of human stupidity is boundless. I have no more hope for life on this planet...

I know this is supposed to be stupid, harmless fun, but... are they allowed to sell such potential real estate? Wouldn't any land created from a volcano be the property of the state automatically?

*Shrug* I suppose if the potential buyers go in knowing that they don't actually own anything (there's gotta be about 48 pages of fine print on this...) and are paying 39.95 for a piece of paper, it's all good. Then when the land shows up, they have a collectable 39.95 piece of paper...
