I just can't believe you're having problems with a Mac. All of their propaga...I mean advertising says, that you're only allowed to have easy, problem-free fun with their computers.
Two weeks ago I just replaced the PowerBook I'd been using for the past 6 years. The thing that finally went bad was the RAM and the battery; both of which I'd expect to die within 5 or 6 years on any laptop. I've also got a desktop G4 that's been working for me since 2002 w/o any hiccups.
Sorry to hear about your power cord ... those effers are pretty expensive too, aren't they? I've got a spare from that Titanium PBook I just replaced, if the connections are the same and if you want it, it's yours.
Right, like my old roommate's Toshiba that after an entire simester of being in the shop, he still can't charge it and have it turned on at the same time? Or my current roommate's Dell that randomly shuts off and who's HD recently died? BV, you should know better than anyone that there can be lemons.
The power cord for the new mac books has sucked since day one. I've gone through three or four now two over a couple years. Its really the only weak link I've run into since making the switch.
A lot of people have issues with the way the power adapter plugs in. They bend easy (ie trip over the cord and rip it out of the machine) and will no longer make a solid connection, that's what I was talking about.
