i have to say that along with this tablet i will stil keep my old android 2.3 tablet so i dont realy have problem that i have to go ios or android because of apps...
If you can't wait for the Transformer Prime the iPad 2 is a better option. Prime should have ICS around late January.

You really are quite the ghoul, aren't you? You're not supposed to revel in that kind of thing.
Apple is notorious for their poor labor and environment record. They've had years to crackdown on their contractors, they haven't - profits have always come first.

I haven't bought an Apple product since the Mac Mini G4 (a year before the first reports on their poor labor practices) but you have. You should know better.

http://global.samsungtomorrow.com/?p=8894

Samsung Electronics plan to provide the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for GALAXY devices. The platform update for GALAXY S II and GALAXY Note will start in the first quarter 2012, and other GALAXY devices will soon follow.

The ICS-upgradable devices are the GALAXY S II, GALAXY S II LTE, GALAXY Note, GALAXY R, GALAXY Tab 10.1, GALAXY Tab 8.9, GALAXY Tab 7.7, and GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus.

For upgradable models, Samsung will make separate announcements on details of OS updates schedule for each market according to market situation and carriers’ requirements.

I have positioned the Canadian Tire Welcome matt near the back door as is tradition in preparation for Putting out the Baby Seal Carcass and the related festivities. I still need cheese curds and gravy from the store and to cook all the Bacon. I was going to buy another Litre of Canadian Club, but I bought Mohawk brand instead for $7. I'll just pour it into the Canadian Club bottle. They're Canadian and will never know the difference.

No ****. All devices will get more processing power with time, they coined that law over 40 years ago.

iOS marketshare is flat. Android is now nearly 1 million cellular device activations a day (not including wifi-only or non radio devices) You fail:

Android now has 52.5% of the global smartphone market. No matter how you want to slice it, that's amazing. It's stealing share from every other smartphone operating system other than iOS, which is basically flat.

When I wasn't good My Grandma used to put Oranges, Socks, and Underwear in my Baby Seal Carcass. So would you take it as a slight if you got an Apple product in your Baby Seal Carcass?

i would hope that android is taking market share from all other OS's since there are tons of android models flooding the market. ios still has, what, 4-6 skus?.....and only does 1-2 product releases a year

Really, you've never said that before, thanks for the brilliant new insight! Apple used a similiar business model with PCs, why would they change it for consumer devices? Their lock-in with iTunes is working great, there is little reason for change or need for greater marketshare if they are making money.

Trying to convince a troll is a new high to me. Face it Rice you don't know **** about market share :)

If you draw the parallel to the pc/Mac war then Android is Windows.

word on the street is that asus will be putting out a nexus tablet later this year with very impressive hardware specs, and will be priced to compete with the kindle fire.

Is the "no flash" thing still considered to be a big deal?

That's pretty much all that's keeping me from getting an iPad. That, and my wife's insistence that we don't need one...

Duh! Of course we don't NEED one...

Its not dead (roadmap targets useful life of ten more years for developers) and it still does things better than html5 can ATM but its longevity is on the desktop realm:

http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/22/flash-roadmap-reveals-new-features-improved-gpu-support-lack-o/

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2012/03/unreal-engine-brings-console-quality-graphics-to-browser-based-flash-games.ars

"You hear all this talk about HTML5 and all this stuff, but Flash is the technology that can today enable console quality experiences in your web browser," Rein said during the demonstration.
Linux support is improving via Google Adobe partnership:

Srsly. I don't know how people tolerate $hit like this. 'Specially when they're spending $500 or more on the fvcking thing.
About the only time I encounter a problem with Flash is when trying to view a menu off some restaurant's crappy Flash website. All the porn sites work fine. ;)

I've never owned an iPad, but I've had a 3GS for 2.5 years now. At first the flash thing was annoying, but it's not even an issue any more...

I haven't had a flash glitch in a year. It's a non-issue as far as the content I'm viewing.

update:

despite the introduction of the ipad mini, apple has been losing market share. Their share of the tablet market is down nearly 10% since 2011.

I don't know why this is a surprise. There were virtually no consumer-friendly tablets on the market at the time the iPad was introduced.

I expect the iPad will take the same kind of product arc as the iPhone did, which continues to still have a very substantial market share and sell very well, despite it having dropped off from its dominant market share.
