I would love it if the watch would work standalone. It would be great to be connected, gps, messages and have the time and then be able to leave the phone at home. It would be a healthy way of leaving the phone at home. Until then not really interesting for me since I still have to bring my phone.

Agree I am sure it will get there it seems strange they would not do it but I there is enough work getting the product off the ground as it is now.

they wouldn't have been able to hit the form factor they wanted trying to cram an LTE/GSM antenna in there. Even if they could, you'd probably have like 40 minutes of battery life (based on current battery tech).

Sooo, will reading messages on your iDerp watch while driving be illegal? Will checking time while driving be now illegal, too?
It never surprises me the number of people driving that I KNOW have cars equipped with blue-tooth holding their phones up to their faces like morons.

This is going to be F-ing epic! People will be holding their watch up to their face while they drive, looking all the more stupid.

Yes, just like you flip all cars cars and boats you can get your hands on :busted:
One time, I did it ONE TIME. You have any idea how many cars/trucks/motorcycles I've had in the last 25 years? Since I average 2 cars a year (I get bored easy), I would say 1 in 50 is a pretty damn good ratio.

I believe we have an example of misunderstanding between CBJ and JD.
CBJ is using 'flip' in reference to buying something and later selling it for a higher price, like glitterboi's doing with his pizza ovens.
JD is taking 'flip' as a reference to his well documented experience of rolling his 'vette. (roll=sideways; flip=end over end)

Considering that CBJ is a non-native english speaker from a 3rd world country and that JD is testy about being constantly reminded about wrecking his car, I thought it was important to clear this up to avoid butthurt.

If only I ever made money on any car I sold...

Although I did make a pretty penny on the Corvette. Purchase price was $4k, insurance payout on totaled Corvette was something like $11,500 after deductible and stuff.

There is a Freudian slip somewhere in their arguments.

lol this is getting better than I had hoped for.

Dan-o you forgot to add socialist to describe the country where I was born. We are not that familiar with a free market economy.

lol that is brilliant. If we forget about the Apple fanboying a journalist complaining about the size of a this type of phone is pretty stupid in the first place. I guess its not as stupid as anybody expecting objective journalism.

Hold in one hand and use with one hand are different. Also I bet the thickness and weight are different, too.

The 1 year old Note 3 is lighter at 5.9 vs 6.1 oz (Note 4 is 6.2) and about the same thickness (.3 vs .28"). The Note 3 is the same width and shorter at 5.9 vs 6.1". So yeah, The Verge is stupid - either they're all big or they're not.

But you flipped one with probably the lowest center of gravity. You are just really that none of the others rolled.

6 Plus sold out until some time in November already. People want to find out on their own its too big.
Which means Steve Jobs was clearly wrong and missed out for Apple - people have wanted bigger screens for years.

I would consider replacing both my iPad 2 and iPhone 5S with a 6 Plus.
