Are 24 inch cruiser wheels that weak?

Hey. I'm loving my new 24 inch cruiser. But I'm a bit surprised to see the rims buckling after a week. I don't think I ride very heavy. Small jumps and drop offs. Ok, I land a little hard occasionaly, but only getting a few feet of air.
On other threads I've heard ryhno lites are not too bad. I'm wondering if perhaps they were not set up right stock on the bike? I'm gonna get them trued, but hope they don't keep going wavy on me.
What would be a strong 24 inch wheel? I'm really surprised as I've had my specialised hardrock 26 for years and haven't done anything harder on the 24, yet the 26 alex rims never had to be trued in 5 years.
Are 24 cruiser wheels really that bad. Or did I just get unlucky?

I rode 24 rhynolites for a little over a year awhile back and had zero issues with them. They weren't handbuilt either, just came with the bike. I tensioned and trued after the first week even though they weren't too out of wack and from then on they were solid. Have them tensioned and trued at a shop and you should be golden.

No problem! Buddy of mine has been rolling them in 26" and he has had good luck too. By no means are they a weak wheel!! Sometimes the machine built wheels that come with bikes aren't properly tensioned from the factory, no matter how burly the rims are. With machine builds the tolerances and what not aren't as tight as someone spending some time on them doing it by hand.
