Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I feel like it shouldn't be that easy to predict that a major political party will shoot itself in the face during an effort to keep a governments basic functions going.
Let me get this straight - you're telling me that you're surprised that the Shooting Themselves In The Face Party managed to shoot themselves in the face?

Editor’s Note: This story contains offensive language.

(CNN) — Mark Robinson, the controversial and socially conservative Republican nominee for governor of North Carolina, made a series of inflammatory comments on a pornography website’s message board more than a decade ago, in which he referred to himself as a “black NAZI!” and expressed support for reinstating slavery, a CNN KFile investigation found.

Despite a recent history of anti-transgender rhetoric, Robinson said he enjoyed watching transgender pornography, a review of archived messages found in which he also referred to himself as a “perv.”

But when the news finally did break, it barely caused a stir, at least not among this polite gathering of women in Johnston County.

“If the accusations are accurate, it’s something for him and his wife to deal with. It’s not my business. It’s a marital issue,” said Adele Walker, 52.

Soon afterwards, the group discussed their planned $200 donation to his campaign, in which he is already trailing the Democratic candidate Josh Stein, the state's attorney general.

“What we decided is that we’re going to donate even more money to Mr Robinson,” she said.
He's a complete asshole, so let's donate more funds to his campaign. :/

Why would they all quit over made up accusations??

"leaving Robinson with just three people working on his campaign — two campaign spokesmen and a bodyguard."
