I think Chris Matthews was playing along. He is a dick, though, but it worked here.

Yeah I have quelled my antagonism somewhat but one day I would love a journo to follow up a statement like that with the question "Are you ****ing stupid or what?"

So the first question in my Pro/Anti American test is:

1. Do you live in a town that is Pro-America?

Wow.
How the f*** do these people get elected to office?

Oh wait... I guess it's obviously because there are enough retards out there to vote for them.
If the guy's middle name isn't "Hussein" and he's not black, the focal point here wouldn't be that he pals around with "terrorists," now would it? And don't tell me that there's just a select few radical fundamentalists who think this way either... I live in TN... every "conservative" I talk to is pretty much just a racist idiot who thinks liberals are Un-'merican and Obama is a national disgrace.

Oops.

Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann says she regrets using the term "anti-American" while discussing Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's views, a remark that could threaten her re-election bid.

Bachmann told the St. Cloud Times on Tuesday that she "made a big mistake" by going on MSNBC's "Hardball," a show she said she'd never seen before her appearance last week. Her statement to host Chris Matthews that Obama "may have anti-American views" drew condemnation and helped her opponent, Democrat Elwyn Tinklenberg, raise more than $1 million in just a few days.

why do I always find myself pointing out that these people (yeah, I said it) are either blatant liars or ignorant beyond all belief. I may not like Chris Matthews, but you CANNOT be a professional politician and not know who he is.

She probably thought she was the anointed one, a pretty conservative chick with the backing of Karl Rove and The President, and she figured she could say anything and still win her election. Still might win too.

She reminds me in attitude of Sue Kelly, an ex-Congresswoman, who was the incumbent against John Hall. I saw Hall on the Colbert Report, and he did all the things he needed to win, like talk to local news.

After she loses, she acts like her constituency did her a disservice.

This reminds me of the V for Vendetta line, "People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people."
